The white rabbit in St. Mary's Church in Beverley, East Yorkshire, is a medieval stone carving from around 1330, located at the entrance to St. Michael's Chapel. Often called the "Pilgrim Rabbit," it is depicted with a messenger bag, scroll, and staff and is widely believed to have been the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. Carroll had strong family ties to the Beverley area, making a visit to the church plausible, though the definitive link remains local legend.
