With this picture inspired by 'The Virgin Suicides' by Jeffrey Eugenides, I’ve tried to glimpse into the lives of the Lisbon sisters, set against the backdrop of a quiet suburban neighbourhood in the 1970s. Through the eyes of neighbourhood boys, the sisters’ personalities are revealed along with the oppressive environment they navigate. The book’s themes are a compelling exploration of beauty, longing, and the complexities of adolescence.
