'The Resurrection' (after Spencer)

This woodblock-style print is inspired by Stanley Spencer's well-known painting 'The Resurrection, Cookham, 1924–7'. Like with the Spencer 'The Resurrection' unfolds in a country graveyard. Emerging from their graves, a small gathering forms around the church. The scene carries a mix of private sorrow and shared solace, shaped by the shifting light that plays across the figures. Their faces and gestures hint at grief and hope.
