The North York Moors is a vast upland plateau in north-east Yorkshire, encompassing 1,436 square kilometres of protected national parkland established in 1952. Celebrated for the largest continuous expanse of upland heather moorland in England, the region turns a deep purple sea in late summer.
This print captures a sweeping sunset scene over the high plateau, where carpets of purple heather meet the golden, sun-bleached moorland grasses. A traditional dry stone wall cuts down the hillside, guiding the eye past a lone, weathered tree towards remote stone cottages nestled against rolling green valleys.
