'The Deep' - travel poster

The Deep, a public aquarium at Sammy’s Point where the River Hull meets the Humber Estuary in Kingston upon Hull, opened in March 2002. Known as “the world’s only submarium,” it hosts thousands of sea creatures, including seven shark species, with 2.5 million litres of water and 87 tonnes of salt, in a building designed by Terry Farrell. The Deep also functions as a marine research centre, with aquarists caring for animals and conducting research
