This cover was inspired by the dynamics of familial love and emotional depth found in ‘Sons and Lovers’. D.H. Lawrence’s semi-autobiographical novel offers a portrayal of a miner’s wife and her two sons, highlighting the tension between maternal bonds and romantic relationships. I’ve tried to make the figures illustrate the struggles of early 20th-century working-class life. Through the lens of class, love, and identity, each character’s expression reveals the depths of their connections.
