'Goodby to all That' - book cover art

This portrait was inspired by Robert Graves’ autobiography, titled ‘Goodbye to All That.’ It offers, I hope, a moving depiction of a young British officer set against the haunting backdrop of World War I. The officer’s intense gaze reflects the burden of his experiences, showcasing the brutality and futility of war. The bleak landscape, characterised by barren trees and subdued colours, heightens the sense of disillusionment and struggle.
