There was always something unappealing about the 80s. Bret Easton Ellis’s ‘American Psycho’ amplifies this in a chilling narrative set in Manhattan, featuring a young investment banker (what else?). This image came easily—almost like a 20th-century Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I’ve tried to portray the character as having a clear personality disorder, with the banker caught between the allure of wealth and the darkness of his double life as a serial killer. The line between sanity and madness is razor-thin!
