It is one of the last remaining great grain silos in the region. The Maizecor silo has been a part of the city's industrial landscape since the early 20th century. It is located adjacent to the River Hull and has been dedicated to grain milling and maize product production for decades

The business has now closed, with prospects for the continued existence of the building looking doubtful (as of 2025)
