This evocative landscape artwork presents a dramatic shoreline scene at Spurn, where weathered posts stand resolute against a moody sky and the endless sea. The interplay of light and shadow creates a captivating reflection on the water, inviting contemplation of nature's raw beauty. The swirling clouds, painted in shades of grey and blue, evoke a sense of mystery and depth, enhancing the overall atmosphere. This piece reflects the profound experience of being at the edge of the world, where sea, land, and sky converge
Spurn is a narrow sand tidal located off the tip of the coast of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, that reaches into the North Sea and forms the north bank of the mouth of the Humber Estuary. It was a spit with a semi-permanent connection to the mainland, but the fight against the encroaching sea was lost as a storm in 2013 made the road down to the end of Spurn impassable to vehicles at high tide.
