The Olympus

The Rolls-Royce Olympus was a pioneering turbojet engine developed by Bristol Aero Engines in the late 1940s. It was one of the world's first two-spool axial-flow turbojets, featuring two independent rotating shafts for improved efficiency. It powered the Avro Vulcan bomber and later evolved into the Olympus 593, which propelled the Concorde supersonic airliner. Afterburning versions included reheat for increased thrust. The Olympus was also adapted for naval ships and power generation, remaining in service for industrial applications.
