Pathfinder DH Mosquito

The image portrays a Pathfinder Mosquito returning home over the Dutch landscape in the early hours of the morning.

Pathfinder Mosquitos were specialised versions of the de Havilland Mosquito aircraft used during World War II. These aircraft were part of the RAF's Pathfinder Force, which played a crucial role in improving the accuracy of bombing missions. The Pathfinders would fly ahead of the main bomber force to locate and mark targets with flares or markers, enabling the bombers to hit their objectives more effectively.
